Early August, we went on a road trip adventure to meet two new babies, Asher and Jace. We stopped in Chicago to visit our dear friends and meet their new baby boy. The car trip on the way there without these cuddly car seat strap-friends was rough, and thankfully Auntie Nicky had an extra set she gave us to help the trip home go more smoothly.
Here are some fun pics in Chicago with the kiddos.
We then made the adventure from Chicago to Michigan to see Louie's sister and their family in their new home and to meet our little nephew for the first time. The picture below is proud Cousin Jada sneaking in on a family picture :)
The cousins had a lot of fun together, but even after some 30-odd attempts by Uncle John, I had a hard time finding one where all three kids are looking at the camera and smiling, but you get the idea.
Zachary also tried some new foods at home the week or so before we left, some he liked a lot (sweet potatoes)....
And some, not so much (avocado pictures below, unfortunately we didn't realize it was past its prime until we saw his strong reaction!)...
We had a wonderful time spending time with our friends and family, and are so thankful that we got to go on this adventure, but it was nice to get home after being on the road too. Here's some cute pictures we took when we got home.
Even though it's the summer in these pictures, we had to have him try on this hat and outfit that Louie wore as a baby, the hat was made by one of his grandmas.
Here's smiling Zach next to the beautiful cross-stitched blanket Great-Grandma Millie made for him, it's so cute and her work is so beautiful and detailed, it's a treasured gift.
